Rise of the Planet of the Podcrash

Posted on: January 24th, 2012 by admin No Comments

Chris Gore returns to give the history of The Planet of the Apes movies and his shocking opinion of the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Plus, he reveals the secret of being a TV expert. And the Zach Galifianakis sketch that almost happened.

Chris Gore is on G4′s “Attack of the Show” doing DVD reviews. He’s also the star of his own podcast where he replays interviews he did on other shows. Including this one. Come to think of it, don’t listen to this show, wait for it to be on “Podcrash with That Chis Gore.”
Actually, listen to this show. it’s short. Under 30 minutes. That’s because I interviewed Chris for almost two hours and cut it up into three shows. The next one is the last one. We discuss “Logan’s Run” on the next installment of the Gore Tapes. He came into talk about Logan’s Run, but he gotta talking and I gotta taping.

Very soon, Nicko and I are going to talk about “Celebrity Apprentice.” I love that show. It will either be on the same episode as a movie review or the day before. I can’t go and start a third podcast. Plus I want to tweet the format of “Proudly Resents.” Make it less rambly and less giggly.

You tell me. what would you change? More Nicko?

Three of the Week – 12/12/11

Posted on: December 12th, 2011 by admin No Comments

Every week we have three new suggestions for podcasts. Check them out. See if what I care?
My Wife Hates Me One of my favorite comedians has a podcast! Rich Vos and Bonnie McFarlane fight on microphones. The two of them are great stand up comedians that met on “Last Comic Standing.” Rich was in the first season and Bonnie in the second. Neither one of them won the show, but they found love…awe. They got married and had a kid.

It didn’t take Bonnie long before everything that Rich did annoyed her. We feel her pain. And laugh the whole time.

They are really funny together.  This is a great lose forum for them.I don’t have much else to say, but it’s super funny.

PodCRASH Chris Gore has a unique idea for a podcast. He guests on other people’s shows uses it on his show. Mostly he airs his parts. His first episode was his appearance on my podcast “Proudly Resents.”

He opens each show with a rant, which could be a show on its own. Chris is really funny and interesting. He can talk about any subject and does. He takes questions and ends each show with a clip of a movie using typical movie Dialogue. Let’s Get Him. What about a clip of a person crawling through an air vent?  They seem to do that in every movie.

If you crave even more Chris Gore he will be on a brand new “Proudly Resents” this Wednesday. We’ll discuss the great film “Logan’s Run.” He also talks about his favorite movie of the year, “The Rise of the Planets of the Apes” and a history of the “Planet of the Apes” movies. Subscribe on itunes or Stitcher.

Tne Wolf Den – This show is a little behind the scenes, only because it’s purely behind the scenes. The CEO of a comedy podcast network, Jeff Ulrich, naturally talks to Ear Wolf’s loyal fans through a podcast. What did you say? You don’t have an ironic mustache or take classes at the UCB? Why would you care? Jeff also has titans in the new media business talking about how they are coping in this new media world. Listen to the Jimmy Pardo episode (what podcast doesn’t have one) to hear the comedian’s journey from record store clerk to podcast pioneer. Also hear him get the name of Jeff’s company wrong every time he uses it. Never Not Not Air Wolf.

People who bash ”It’s A Wonderful Life,” a film dynasty and @thatChrisgore. This Saturday Bad Movie Night SF bashes the Christmas classic. This tradition has lead to loss friends and death threats. We talk to the ring leader, @sherilyn connelly. Then a separate conversation with the owner of the Laemmle Theater chain in LA. They broke such films as “Swingers” and it was the first place to show “The Room” at midnight. But first, a bonus Chris Gore clip. Chris tells us how he gets dirty words past the censors on his G4 show, “Attack of the Show.”

“Film Threat” Goes Back to the Future

Posted on: June 20th, 2011 by admin No Comments

“Film Threat” magazine has been a force in independent cinema since the 80′s. They were one of the first to go from print to web in the late 90′s. Now they rebel again by adding a quarterly glossy mag to it’s family of websites, apps and podcast.

Owner/publisher Mark Bell joins us to gives us history of the zine, names filmmakers to watch, crowns the best video store in the world and he defends Kevin Smith’s  “Jersey Girl” (Record scratch, dog going “huh?”). Plus, we learn about his days as a bear. (Not the Nic Cage kind.)

Don’t kid yourself, he’s not just here for our enjoyment, but to raise money to make the mag. appear at a newsstand near you.  Donate.
