George Jefferson Predicted the Government Shutdown

The government shut down and people against Obama care remind me of this episode of the “The Jeffersons.” George accidentally goes to a KKK rally. The KKK leader has a heart attack. George (who just learned CPR in act 1) gives the leader CPR and saves his life. When the KKK leader finds out he was saved by a black man, he says he’d rather have died. I remember watching this as a kid thinking, “No one would rather die than get help from a black man. That’s crazy.” But now people are saying just that.
The clip is slow because the pacing is dated. Unfortunately, the message is not.
It starts at 5:24.
